once again, it takes me another one month to update. i guess i've lost the novelty in this. sometimes, it's just an outlet, sometimes, it's just to share some thoughts and interesting stuff. I have some particular idea about how i want my blog to be like, but i doubt it will ever conceptualise cos i'm too busy and lazy to maintain it. ah well.

i feel like talking about ugly singaporeans. but then again, i'm a singaporean. i've never been ashamed to be a singaporean, but sometimes, i just can't bring myself to say that i'm proud to be a singaporean. whenever i see or come across some people that really irks me, i'll rant and rant to my mum. maybe i can rant here too.

firstly, i can't help noticing that the male species are not very gentlemental when it comes to mrt trains and public buses. and that's really sad. it's not that we women on one hand wants equality yet on the hand expect men to give up their seats. rather, it's more like a culture that encompasses these kind of actions.

few days back, i was at the back of the bus. there were 4 seats at the front (the new buses), of which 4 men were sitting. this woman boarded with a toddler in her arms. i waited for one of the men to give up their seat. nope, no one did. waited and waited, still no one did. i wanted so badly to get them to give up their seat, but there were so many people in between cos it was quite crowded. in the end, the oldest of the 4 men stood up and offered his seat. what a shame, isnt it. that a fairly elderly man had to give up his seat and not the rest. i spent the rest of the journey thinking and thinking about this cos i had no one to express my disgust at.

few weeks back, i boarded the bus and there were these two old couple with white hair standing by the side. all 4 seats (the new buses again) were taken. then someone stood up and alighted. i noticed that this man started heading towards the seat. like hello? can't you see the elderly standing? i purposely said out loud in mandarin, auntie, do you want to sit?
hah, that man immediately stopped in his tracks. he didn't dare to sit although the old lady didn't sit cos i think she wants to stand with her husband or they were alighting soon or something.

another thing that really irks me is people rushing into the train even before others alight. for goodness sake, stop this irksome habit. we need to get out before you can get in, can't you wait by the side? and having been to taiwan and taken their trains, i feel so ashamed that the standards differ so greatly when both countries are considerably of similar economic status. the taiwanese are so organised it's really amazing! they will all queue in ONE, straight line about 50 degrees to each door. so you'll see rows of parallel lines.

what a shame, i think, whenever i come across all these instances. when will singapore ever reach such standards of wonderful culture? not in the near future, not in my lifetime, i believe.
